About

I'm Adriano Platania, a secondary school Computer Science teacher in London. This site is my classroom, online: the books I wrote for my own students, the algorithms I teach, and the tools I wish existed when I was learning.

Why this site exists

Most CS resources are either textbooks that never run or websites that never explain. I wanted both in one place: content written section by section against the OCR spec, and code you can actually watch, break and rerun. Every visualisation in the Lab is driven by the same algorithms students trace on paper in my lessons — just faster.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking beyond anonymous page counts. If you're one of my students: the books are free, the exercises are yours to struggle with, and a wrong answer brought to a lesson is worth more than a right one copied from a page.

Teaching philosophy

• Retrieval first — recall the old content before meeting the new.
• Misconceptions are data — the traps are flagged because I've watched students fall into them every year.
• Run the code — recursion and Big O only become real the first time you watch them happen.
